About Us
For more than 51 years, SOS Children’s Villages in Ethiopia has been working to ensure that children grow up with the care, protection, and support they need to thrive. It supports children who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it, while strengthening families and communities to prevent separation.
Through integrated programmes in childcare and protection, family and community strengthening, health, education, humanitarian response, and youth empowerment, the organization creates safe and resilient environments for children and young people. Operating across multiple regional states, including Tigray, Amhara, Harari, Oromia, Sidama, Somali, Afar, Central Ethiopia, and South Ethiopia, as well as in the city administrations of Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa, the organization works closely with communities to build sustainable futures for children and young people.
Mission: Our mission is to create families for children in need, empower them to shape their futures, and contribute to the development of their communities.
Vision: We envision a world where every child is part of a loving, respectful, and secure family environment.
Values: Our values include courage, commitment, trust, and accountability. We take action, keep promises, believe in each other, and strive to be reliable partners.
